CISA 考试的一个重要概念: COBIT 是年美国IT界中“最新、最热门、最最最重要”的概念，简单来讲“一个IT控制的框架”但在CISA考试中不会直接考COBIT方面的知识：COBIT是原文就是这几英文词： Control Objectives for Information and related Technology
COBIT has been developed as a generally applicable and accepted standard for good Information Technology(IT) security and control practices that provides a reference framework for management, users, and IS audit, control and security practitioners.COBIT is control framework.It is IT Governance and Control . COBIT has many outstanding benefits（突出的优点）, for example（例如）: It is an open standard （开放的标准）The documentation is clear and understandable （清楚和可以使人明白）The professional organisation, the IT Governance Institute , which is leading the development of COBIT by using a broad range of international references (e.g. ISO standards) COBIT is part of a larger program; it is kept up to date, more detailed information is available, plus there are translations, training programs and the related CISA certification However It has clearly stated that the CISA examination will not test the candidates for Knowledge of COBIT. I have observed that COBIT helps in studying for CISA, however it depends on knowledge level and experience.
COBIT and CISA! A question in minds of almost all CISA aspirants since 1996. My observations are;
1. COBIT is a framework which provides excellent bird's eye view about the possible IT processes and Controls thereof, an organization need to consider. Obviously if one need to know all the IT related processes, controls and How to audit these controls (in other words what are the procedures to establish the controls), COBIT is the only material.
2. CISA - a qualifying examination for judging one's understanding of - i) IT Concepts ii) IT Processes iii) IT Controls iv) IS Audit.
3. As far as my experience is concerned, i think cobit is more usefull to conduct audit than for cisa exam. i had not consulted it and qaulified the exam witout any difiiculty
4. Cobit is not asked but I have seen a scheme in which the parts of ISAC are linked to Cobit and knowing Cobit surely helps to understand ISACA. But you better limit yourself to the executive summary or the management guidelines.
COBIT does not help in understanding IT Concepts, it assumes that you know IT Concepts. Therefore if one is sure about IT Concepts and has enough time to go through all 325+ IT processes and Audit guidelines COBIT will help.

I passed CISA in June 2001 with a scaled score of 84 in 2001 June CISA Exam. After noting the requests of many CISA aspirants for exam-tips and strategies in the listserv, I plan to prepare a "Note to CISA

I hope that you would find it useful in your efforts. As you are aware, ISAC holds the CISA exam in the Second Saturday of June every year. Although one
could register for the exam till the first week of April (of course with payment of additional fees), I remitted
my fees in January itself - so as to commit myself into a 'preparatory mode' - without any procastination
or wasting of precious time in contemplating whether to take up the exam during the year or not.
I thought that when you put your stakes in earlier, you are bound to get focussed sooner.
Some persons at my place chose to not to become a member of ISAC before passing the CISA exam
. However I enrolled as a member of ISAC also simultaneously,considering the great wealth of reading
material made available by ISAC exclusively to members, at their website - K-Net (which was earlier
known as GIR). One more advantage is that out of the extra amount of US$140- paid for Annual
Membership and Processing Fee, about US$100- was 'recouped' by way of concession in the exam
fees to ISAC members. I also received my own six volumes of the Control Journal for 2001 (three of
them before the exam) as an ISAC member.

2. Information Systems Control and Audit - by Ron Weber
3. CISA Review Questions,Answers & Explanations Manual
(with supplements) - Total 500 questions.
4. Information Systems Control Journals (last 3 years) (ISAC publication)
5. ISAC's Members only website - K-Net

To have a solid foundation in the beginning itself, I availed two weeks leave from my organisation, in the month of January, and "went through" the Ron Weber book and the Cisa Review Manual (CRM) , completely once. It gave me an insight into all those grey areas which require increased focus and further study. I was told my seniors that both Ron Weber and CRM requires repetitive reading - atleast three times before the exam. Later, I realised how true it was ! Again, before the exam date, I again availed two weeks leave from my workplace, for revision, rest and relaxation. It is important that sitting through the four-hour gruelling examination requires that you are both physically and mentally fit.
During the four month period between February and May, I devoted 2 hours daily during the weekdays (Monday thru' Saturday), from 4.30am to 6.30 am, for study. Some of my friends prferred to study in the night. Ijust cannot remain awake after 9 pm ! During Sundays, I devoted 8 hours of study-time - comprising of 4 blocks of 2 hours each, with a long break between each block.
Very frequently I used to go through the listing of various 'Tasks' and 'Knowledge Statements' for the one Process Area and the six Content Areas mentioned in the 'Candidate's guide to the CISA Examination' - a booklet which is sent by ISACA to all registered candidates. I used to introspect whether I was able to comprehend what was expected of me to know, in each of these tasks and knowledge statements. Such a regular'benchmarking' gave me comfort and assurance that I continued to 'stay tuned' in the same frequency as of the CISA exam.
I did not open the CISA Review Questions, Answers & explanation Manual till I completed two rounds
of reading of Ron Weber and CRM. After that I used the 500 questions contained therein to run two
mock tests of 200 questions each, and one 'half-test' of 100 questions. It was followed up with an evaluation of my choices with the correct choices mentioned in the manual. I read the explanations
given for ALL questions - including those for which I picked up thecorrect choices. It helped me to find out if I picked up the correct answers for the right reason - or was it just a coincidence. The explanations given for the questions for which I answered wrongly directed me to know more on the content-area/topic, so as to clear my confusion/doubts.
During the second round of mock-test of the same question-bank, I reduced the 'time allotted' from 4
hours to 2hours-30 minutes, since the questions were only replayed with quicker comprehension of the issue on hand. However, one very interesting outcome from the replay was that, for a few questions , the correct choices which were picked up during the first-run were not consistently picked up during the subsequent run, indicating the grey-areas to be concentrated still more.
I extensively used the 'glo-liter' (highlighter) marking pen to 'illuminate' key words, phrases and sentences throughout the Ron Weber book and CRM manual. This helped me during the 'fast forward ' run during the revision on a few days before the exam date, to have a quick look at all that is important to remember.
From the very beginning I also used to write down on an exercise note-book, in my own words, as to what I understand from each topic that I read in Weber and CRM. This 'collated information' was a great source of revision material during the last few days before the exam. This guide also instilled a positive assurance in me that I indeed had covered all that was required.After I received the hall-ticket for the examination, one day I visited the examination centre, to familiarise myself with the area, surroundings etc to have a 'feel' of the place where the great battle is going to take place, so that I did not unncessarily get 'cooked up' on the D-day, to locate the exam-centre.

目前此考试在美国 、香港、日本都是“含金量最高的考试”IT界的专业考试 ，注意：CISA并不是一个会计、审计方面考试，而是一个“IT界信息技术”的专业认证考试。曾经有一种说法：在美国NASDAQ交易所上空有一只蝴蝶轻轻地拍动了一下翅膀，过了一段时间，却在中国引起一场飓风。事实的确如此，NASDAQ股市震荡得绝不仅仅是中国的几支概念股。大洋彼岸高科技企业股价的大幅度下滑，因之全球

CIA考试是要考四科,每科考试时间为3.5个小时,每科题目125条题目,全部为单项选择题目(四选一),中文试题是同美国的英文试题内容一样,只是字对字翻译过来,就是说同一时间CIA考试,在美国和在中国的考试内容是一样的,只是文字不同,现在2006年CIA考试其实比起当年我们考的时间99年是难很多了,主要是这几年增多了很多新的准则,题目数量从以前80条增加到125条,2006年CIA考试最新变化是每一科是125条题目,单项选择题,但这里面有25条题目是不计分的作为一个考试研究用途,但到底哪25条题目是不计分的就不作任何标示,所以考生必须完成全部125条题目,这样其实增大的考试通过的难度,CIA考试答错的题目不扣分,所以一定要全部作答,另外以前是按100分计分,现在已经不是按100分计了,所以整体难度是提高了,你能否通过在于你有什么的考试资料和看看与你一起考的其它考生大家的水平如何,评分标准现在与国内的四六级差不多的加权计,并没有写明如何计分,但如果大家考生答对的题目都少的话,那总体的分就提高,反之相反,所以通过率都无法说出一个明确数字, 我们以前99年-2002年中国CIA考试通过率是70%左右,考试时间是充分的,绝大多数考生做完一遍题目后大约是花了1个小时10分左右,但要记住,不要提前交卷, 要认真检查和认真回想我们的英文资料的内容,再对应CIA考试题目
